This policy explains what information Wire-Bond collects through wirebond.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Account details. When you create an account: your name, email address and password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form), and, if you choose to give them, your company and phone number.
Projects and submittals. The projects you create, the documents you add to them, and the values you enter when filling out submittals.
Emails you send through the site. When you email a submittal or project, the recipient addresses and any message you include, so we can deliver it.
Contact requests. The name, contact details and message you submit through a Contact Us form.
Technical information. Your IP address and basic browser information, used briefly to keep the site secure and to limit abuse (for example, too many sign-up attempts).
Usage statistics. Pages viewed, how you arrived at the site, approximate location (city or region), and device type, collected by Google Analytics (see Cookies below).
How we use it
To run your account and let you fill out, save, download and email submittals and projects.
To respond to your questions and requests.
To send account emails, such as email verification and password resets.
To protect the site against spam and misuse.
To understand which pages and products are useful so we can improve the site.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site, and only for that purpose: our web hosting provider, Microsoft (which delivers our email), and Google (Google Analytics). When you email a submittal or project, it goes to the recipients you choose, and a copy goes to you. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site uses a small number of cookies and browser storage:
Essential cookies keep you signed in, remember you if you check "Remember me", and protect forms against forgery (the session and XSRF-TOKEN cookies). The site cannot work without them.
Preference cookies and browser storage remember things like the product category you were browsing, your recent searches, and submittal drafts you haven't saved yet. This information stays in your browser and is not sent to us until you choose to save or send it.
Analytics cookies (_ga and related cookies) are set by Google Analytics to count visits and see how the site is used. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, projects and submittals for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, they are deleted too. Contact requests and emails sent through the site are kept in our email system as normal business correspondence.
Your choices
You can view and update your account details on the Account Settings page (in the account menu at the top of the site).
You can delete your account at any time from the same page, which also deletes your projects and submittals.
You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us as shown below.
Children
This site is intended for construction professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
